Event Junkies (EJ) : How did you feel about the last minute “Open Voting” announcement in order to declare the winner of Master of the Mix?
DJ P: I was shocked by the change & a little upset because of how season 1 was set up.
EJ: What did you did do to gain online support & votes, which ultimately lead to your victory?
DJ P: I shared it on Facebook & some on Twitter plus word of mouth. I did have online fans because every week I was winning Fan Fav vote .
EJ: How long have you been DJing?
DJ P: 20 years , since about 1985
EJ: You hung your hat on being a turntable purest throughout the show & every challenge you put your record in the air for the crowd to see; what was that about?
DJ P: I’m not a turntable purest, but maybe I am – I just don’t like using it – Serato
I wanted the crowd to see that I wasn’t using a computer, so I showed the records.
Serato makes it easier & gives you the ability to loops & cue points with a touch of a button – it’s a cheating device.
